About the Position
Overview:
IPC Canada Ltd. is on the lookout for a Senior Development Engineer to become a vital part of the Brooks Asset team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing reservoirs, wells, facilities, and infrastructure while formulating and advancing strategic long-term plans for both subsurface and surface development.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will focus on reservoir assessment, development strategy, and the exploitation of established heavy oil water flood pools, while also assessing new oil development opportunities.
- Assess drilling viability, compile cost estimates, and conduct economic evaluations for projects;
- Analyze optimization opportunities for wells and fields;
- Deliver reservoir engineering insights to assess, design, and implement field development strategies, as well as optimize water injection processes;
- Incorporate future development factors into field development strategies and the assessment of potential new areas;
- Evaluate asset worth, project production forecasts, and operational costs while providing reserve assessments;
- Monitor and manage capital expenditures;
- Ensure compliance with reservoir regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- APEGA certification with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Development, Reservoir, or Exploitation Engineering within the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin;
- Comprehensive understanding of various disciplines (drilling, completions, facilities, and production) and the essential roles involved in the development process (land, geology, geophysics);
- Proficient in economic assessments and reserves estimation;
- Demonstrated expertise with industry-standard engineering software and tools, including Value Navigator;
- Ability to critically evaluate project risks and identify key technical elements that influence success or failure;
- Strong grasp of reserve documentation;
- Capability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve objectives and enhance organizational value;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities;
- Sound judgment, analytical skills, and solid business acumen.
