About the Role

The HSE Coordinator is a key member of the Graham team, responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental protection of employees, clients, and the general public on our construction sites. This role involves supporting multiple projects and providing guidance on safety protocols, reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct project-specific safety orientations for all workers and visitors to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Verify that equipment inspections, reports, and follow-up on deficiencies are completed in a timely manner.
  • Report any non-compliant conditions to the responsible project Superintendent or Supervisor.
  • Assist in conducting Behavioral-Based Safety (BBS) assessments as required.
  • Confirm that controlled products supplied to projects are accompanied by current Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and other required documentation.
  • Ensure that Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and related documents are posted and communicated to workers.
  • Attend and participate in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) meetings.
  • Review incident reports and maintain monthly statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct project inspections with the project Superintendent and workers to identify hazards.
  • Arrange or conduct HSE training for workers and Supervisors.
  • Interact with regulatory bodies and clients, taking a proactive approach to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Support Operations as required and demonstrate HSE and Quality behaviors that reflect corporate expectations.

Requirements:

  • High school graduation and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school.
  • Certification in Health and Safety or a safety designation is an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience in safety or a related field.
  • Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems (HSE MS).
  • Understanding of general constructability principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and online reporting software.
