Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Shift Manager to join our team at Piramal Group. As a key member of our production operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of production safety, quality, efficiency, and output.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute shift activities to meet production targets, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Manage and monitor batch processing operations, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and legislative requirements.
  • Facilitate a "Safety First" culture, promoting adherence to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Investigate and report safety incidents, implementing corrective and preventive measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead daily site meetings, working with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets and ensure proper scheduling and execution.
  • Ensure batches are produced safely and efficiently, in compliance with instructions in master batch records, with a focus on weekly/monthly production targets, OTIF, and customer delivery schedules.
  • Provide leadership to the production team, including performance management, mentoring, recruitment, coaching, training, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed by staff, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) effectively.
  • Ensure all executed GMP documentation is completed, thoroughly reviewed, and supports "Right First Time" performance objectives.
  • Endorse a culture of "Audit Readiness" and drive positive compliance ratings for regulatory, customer, corporate, and internal audits.
  • Initiate change controls, deviations, planned deviations, and conduct investigations related to non-conformances, ensuring CAPAs are executed as intended.
  • Maintain all records relevant to production equipment, cleaning, and processes, ensuring production equipment is well maintained and inspected prior to use.
  • Manage shift time and attendance management systems, ensuring accuracy of hours, vacation requests, and timely approvals for payroll processing.
  • Review training documents for completeness, identify gaps in training assessments, and close identified gaps.
  • Envision team learning objectives, future competencies, training needs, and facilitate the execution of training plans by motivating and sharing feedback.
  • Monitor process performance, identify gaps, and take lead on reviewing master batch records and training of involved personnel.
  • Own and report departmental KPIs (safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, labor utilization, downtime, schedule adherence) with Senior Leadership.
  • Participate in inter-departmental/cross-functional meetings with various key stakeholders, contributing to the implementation and success of continuous improvement initiatives and/or client-driven projects.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement/OE projects to support employee development, process improvements, increase equipment uptime, optimization of cleaning practices, production efficiencies, and yield improvements using methodologies such as LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Actively contribute to all cost-saving initiatives in production department, focusing on industry best practices and adherence to departmental objectives.
