Student Work Assistance Program Assistant

Program Overview:
The Student Work Assistance Program (SWAP) at Langara College provides students with financial support and work experience through on-campus employment opportunities. The program aims to support students who demonstrate financial need and meet course load criteria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic, routine clerical tasks under the direct supervision of a superior.
- Assist with special events, student events, and basic research.
- Perform basic housekeeping tasks in classrooms or labs.
- Provide daycare assistance in the Langara Child Development Centre.
- Distribute classroom materials.
- Perform basic tasks in the library.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or international student with a valid SIN, or refugee with proof of status.
- Registered in a minimum of 9 credits for the duration of SWAP employment (6 credits for students with registered disability through StudentAide BC or receiving accommodations through Langara Disability Services) or registered as a full-time continuing studies student.
- Has a CGPA of 2.00 or higher.
Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge and abilities appropriate to the assigned tasks.
- Ability to perform basic clerical functions as required and, as appropriate, to operate standard office appliances and equipment.

For the Student Work Assistance Program, if you have not been approved for student loans, you are required to attach your budget sheet in the application in a separate document from your resume/cover letter. Please visit the SWAP page on the Financial Aid website to download the budget sheet.
