Position Overview
The Government of Nunavut is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Manager, Federal Contributions and Relations. This position is essential for developing, negotiating, and overseeing agreements between the Government of Nunavut and federal entities, as well as third-party organizations, focusing on investments in transformative public infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of agreements related to federal funding initiatives.
- Provide expert advice on contract negotiations and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Support capital planning decision-makers by delivering objective analysis and recommendations regarding federal funding programs.
- Collaborate with various departments and Crown Corporations to gather input for federal funding applications.
- Present findings and progress to senior management and oversight committees.
- Manage the human and financial resources of the Federal Contributions and Relations Unit, working independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a recognized degree in a relevant field, complemented by a minimum of five years of experience in financial management, including contract oversight and financial analysis. Additionally, one year of supervisory or management experience is required. A CPA designation is considered an asset.
Language Proficiency
Fluency in two or more of Nunavut's official languages is an advantage. Knowledge of Inuit culture, land, and experience in a northern cross-cultural environment are also beneficial.
