We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of People and Culture to join our team at Updata Partners. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and engage top talent, while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Team Development: Lead and build a high-performing People and Culture team, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
- Talent Acquisition and Development: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent, and design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Employee Engagement and Experience: Create and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, including recognition programs, employee events, and feedback mechanisms.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, and to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Performance Management and Evaluation: Design and implement performance management systems to evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and ensure fair and effective performance management processes.
- Compensation and Benefits: Develop and implement competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent.
- Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution: Manage employee relations issues, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive and inclusive work environment by working closely with managers and employees to address concerns and foster a supportive and inclusive workplace.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in HR/People Operations, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to commute to our downtown Toronto office 2-3 days a week, experience working in a startup or fast-growing tech company, deep understanding of employment standards and employment equity regulations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
