We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dispatch/Operations Supervisor to join our team at Canuck Express. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our dispatch department and ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise the activities of staff in relation to transport operations, including dispatching and tracking/monitoring of transportation vehicles.
  • Handle and resolve any issues that arise during operations and minimize customer delays.
  • Review and analyze load information, including points of origin, destination, pick-up, and delivery time, to optimize routes and reduce empty miles.
  • Plan personnel and equipment according to fairness, proximity, and equipment type required for loads, as well as hours of service and maximizing utilization.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of our transportation operations.
  • Conduct investigations into accidents and implement safety measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain open communication with other unit managers to enhance overall company performance.
  • Investigate customer complaints related to product delivery and transportation issues.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively distribute information across different units.
  • Flexibility with working schedule, including occasional weekend work.
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the GTA and major highways.
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills.
  • Good negotiation and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong customer service skills to maintain and retain existing customers.
  • Knowledge of transportation procedures and modes.
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar role or capacity.
