About the Role:
Duke is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to lead our project management initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving organizational commitments, evaluating and identifying solutions to meet complex requirements, and supporting organizational direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee multiple plans for internal groups and teams, anticipating risks and taking appropriate steps.
- Mentor and coach staff to create a high-performing, synergetic team, providing clear objectives and enabling team success.
- Provide leadership in a team working environment, both intra-office and inter-office.
- Lead strategic initiatives, functional groups, and continuous improvement initiatives, championing a culture of excellence.
- Manage project budget and schedule performance, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
- Assign tasks to project team members, provide necessary support, and ensure successful outcomes.
- Supervise staff working on a project, selecting and managing project sub-contractors/consultants, and preparing project specifications and engineering documents.
- Resolve project-related issues, identify, manage, and process project change orders, and lead project QA/QC functions.
- Approve client technical invoices, initiate project invoicing, and support marketing efforts as needed.
Requirements:
- Subject matter expert in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in project scheduling, budget tracking, and analysis, with the ability to actively manage schedules using recognized project management software.
- 10-15 years of post-graduation experience, preferably in the maritime industry, with a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience as a project manager.
- Proven understanding of engineering theories and principles, with the ability to contribute to the improvement and development of engineering tools and processes.
- Advanced working knowledge of primary computer software programs necessary to complete position and role objectives.
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures, with excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Working Conditions:
- Willingness to work flexible hours and outside normal working hours to accommodate time differences.
- Willingness to travel and work from different locations as required.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of job location.
