The Financial Credit Analyst is responsible for conducting thorough and ongoing evaluations of client creditworthiness for a designated portfolio of business accounts. This role involves assessing the overall financial stability and credit exposure of business entities, utilizing discretionary authority within established guidelines. The analyst applies expertise in lending to manage a portfolio of lending products or specific phases of the lending process, such as underwriting and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize analytical judgment to identify and resolve issues within established parameters.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in prioritizing business objectives and strategizing execution plans.
  • Conduct independent assessments to address strategic challenges.
  • Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Manage databases to ensure data integrity and compliance with governance standards.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies, including readiness assessments and stakeholder engagement.
  • Create communication plans aimed at influencing behavior positively and delivering tailored messages.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of operational programs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate service delivery in all tasks.
  • May specialize in funding processes or credit analysis.
  • As a funding specialist, oversee the funding process, ensuring compliance with legal documentation and approved terms.
  • Evaluate lending applications to identify issues and provide recommendations for maintaining credit quality.
  • Confirm security valuations and authorize credit applications in line with lending policies.
  • Develop risk profiles and conduct credit investigations.
  • Address inquiries and resolve issues identified during audits and quality checks.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Integrate information from various sources to enhance process efficiency and reporting.
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards to monitor performance.
  • Adhere to security protocols and ethical standards to prevent fraud and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with company policies.
  • Identify potential risks and take necessary actions to uphold operational integrity.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and various departments to provide product support and expertise.
  • Work independently on complex tasks, adapting to unique situations as required.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of business banking products, lending processes, credit risk policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of credit qualification and adjudication standards.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication, collaboration, and analytical problem-solving.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills.

Fluency in both French and English is essential for this role, as it involves supporting clients and team members across diverse regions.
