Position Overview:

The Senior Pharmacy Manager will oversee pharmacy operations for patients enrolled in specialized programs at SPS McKesson. This pivotal role entails leading a proficient team to ensure high-quality care, maintaining adherence to regulatory requirements, and providing comprehensive training in a sterile environment. The Senior Manager will also offer national consulting and support across all service locations, in addition to developing national Standard Operating Procedures. Success in this position demands robust clinical and operational expertise, a strong business orientation, and an unwavering dedication to patient care excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the pharmacy team effectively.
  • Ensure prescription verification in line with regulatory standards.
  • Execute sterile compounding tasks with precision.
  • Uphold a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Maintain accurate reports and documentation.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures while training compounding teams.
  • Oversee financial management and inventory control.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for operational challenges.
  • Provide constructive feedback and foster employee development.
  • Supervise compounding processes and ensure quality assurance measures are in place.

Essential Qualifications:

Knowledge Base:

  • Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree is preferred.
  • Valid licensure with the College of Pharmacists.
  • Strong financial and business insight.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical compounding practices.

Professional Experience:

  • Required experience in compounding and oncology.
  • Preferred background in Specialty Pharmacy.
  • Management experience is essential.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary.
