About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Systems Specialist to join our team at CMHC. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective provision of business expertise and support for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Corporation's Finance applications, tools, and/or business processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the lifecycle of changes to the financial system, including user requirements, functional process design, and testing.
  • Ensure financial systems behave as expected and adhere to best practices and industry standards.
  • Understand the data used by financial systems to help build models and reports for business partners.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance to ensure the highest level of data accuracy and integrity, and ensure adequate testing procedures are carried out.
  • Provide technical expertise on statistical reporting tools and applications, and identify opportunities for automation of functions/processes.
  • Liaise with internal and external clients and other stakeholders to clarify issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain appropriate functional business system documentation and process controls.
Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in a related field such as Finance, computer science, business administration, or commerce.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in using or overseeing changes to ERP systems (preferably Microsoft D365FO), or within a financial or reporting position.
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis skills.
  • A strong experience with spreadsheets, data analysis, or statistical tools (Excel, SAS, PowerBI, etc.).
  • Project management skills acquired through the management of small to medium-sized projects.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal capabilities with demonstrated ability to interface and work with colleagues, showing tact and diplomacy at all times.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills with the ability to reason logically and recognize assumptions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Finance certification.
  • A Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation.
  • Microsoft certifications for Azure/D365.
