About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to oversee our portfolio of projects, working closely with our Development team to ensure seamless project execution. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, managing project schedules, budgets, and quality standards, and providing guidance and support to your team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Focus
    • Promote and align with our corporate strategic vision, adding value to our business through effective project management.
    • Develop and execute a strategic plan for our project portfolio, aligning with our corporate strategic plan and achieving key performance indicators.
    • Lead by example, embodying our Core Values of Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Passion, and Excellence.
  • Client Relations
    • Work closely with our Development team to provide accurate budget, cost, and schedule updates, ensuring seamless communication with clients.
    • Represent Marcon Construction at client meetings and presentations, building strong relationships and trust with our clients.
  • Project Focus
    • Oversee project progress, ensuring effective management of approved budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
    • Work with your construction team to create and maintain master project schedules and milestones, identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve trade/supplier performance.
    • Ensure risks are continuously assessed and mitigated, facilitating solutions and supporting your team with conflict resolution when needed.
    • Review major trade/supplier contracts before finalization, ensuring alignment with our company's standards and policies.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management, identifying and assessing internal and external issues that affect the project.
    • Maintain relationships with other operational leaders, fostering effective teamwork and collaboration.
  • Leadership Focus
    • Recruit, train, and manage the site management team, ensuring business needs are met and team members are empowered to succeed.
    • Provide mentorship and growth opportunities, supporting the development of team members and contributing to succession planning.
    • Manage performance expectations and conduct performance evaluations of direct reports, ensuring alignment with our company's standards and policies.
  • Safety
    • Ensure construction teams prioritize safety, reinforcing our safety culture and advocating for safety at all levels.
  • Quality and Operations Excellence
    • Ensure consistency of processes and achievement of our quality and brand standards, deploying our operations system and continuous improvement strategy.
    • Ensure effective and consistent utilization of construction processes and technologies across the project, driving excellence in all aspects of project delivery.
About You
  • 10+ years of senior project management experience in the construction industry.
  • College diploma or university degree in a related field, PMP certification an asset.
  • Sound understanding of contractual and financial functions on projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, industry practices, estimating/budgeting, scheduling, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to lead and motivate construction teams, resolving project disputes and providing excellent presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Project, with the ability to learn new programs quickly.
