Position Overview

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and navigate straight or articulated trucks to deliver goods and materials.
  • Collaborate as part of a two-person team or convoy.
  • Load and unload cargo securely and efficiently.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
  • Perform necessary brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs as needed.
  • Execute pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all vehicle aspects.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure vehicle reliability.
  • Communicate effectively with central dispatch to relay information.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo details, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Ensure the safety and security of cargo through proper tarping techniques.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) is required.
Work Environment
  • This position is primarily on the road.
  • Employment Duration: Permanent
  • Language of Work: English
  • Work Hours: 50 hours per week
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to handle heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Must be prepared for a physically demanding role with a large workload and potential overtime.
