About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Counsellor to join our team at Maple Hill School. As an Educational Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in a related field are required.
  • Work Setting: This role will be based in a high school setting, where you will work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to provide guidance and support to students.
  • Key Tasks:
    • Attend educational conferences and workshops to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
    • Counsel students on educational, career, and vocational issues, as well as personal and social issues.
    • Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop guidance and counselling programs that meet the needs of our students.
    • Refer students to other specialized services when required, such as academic support or mental health resources.
    • Develop and implement guidance and counselling programs that promote academic success and personal growth.
    • Visit colleges and secondary schools to provide academic information to prospective students, their parents, and educational institutions.
  • Security and Safety: This role requires a bondable individual who can maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Personal Suitability: We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to make sound judgements.
