Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Lead Construction Site Representative/Contract Administrator to become part of our dynamic team of Professional Engineers and Technologists. This role involves providing on-site representation and construction services for a diverse range of projects across British Columbia and Western Canada, serving a varied clientele including government agencies and private sector organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct constructability reviews and provide design support as needed.
  2. Assist in the preparation of tender procurement documentation.
  3. Assess contractor performance to ensure adherence to project deliverables and quality standards.
  4. Maintain ongoing communication with clients regarding project progress, site challenges, and quality assurance, addressing issues as they arise.
  5. Support regional business development efforts, including staffing and RFP/RFQ submissions to facilitate departmental growth.
  6. Manage Quality Assurance processes and prepare payment certificates.
  7. Oversee change requests and claims management.
  8. Handle responses to Contractor RFI's and clarification inquiries.
  9. Ensure compliance within a COR certified environment and perform all duties in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and relevant legislation.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 7 years of experience in Contract Administration and Site Inspection.
  2. Undergraduate degree or diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited institution is considered an asset.
  3. Experience in transportation projects, particularly in roadway enhancements.
  4. Experience in supervising staff members.
  5. Familiarity with road construction materials, methods, and processes.
  6. Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, PDF/Bluebeam markups, and Windows software.
  7. Willingness to travel within the province.
  8. A valid driver's license is required, with the use of a personal vehicle for occasional business purposes, for which reimbursement will be provided.
