Role Overview

As a Construction Project Administrator, you will play a crucial role in providing essential administrative support to facilitate the seamless operation of construction projects. Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining accurate payment verification records, performing clerical tasks, coordinating administrative functions, and assisting with general office duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assessing construction projects from inception to completion in accordance with timelines, specifications, and budgetary constraints;
  • Tracking the advancement of construction projects against set schedules, ensuring the maintenance of payment verification records, updating submittal status logs, and preparing meeting documentation;
  • Creating and executing quality assurance programs;
  • Acting as a representative of the company on various business service matters;
  • Compiling progress reports and distributing progress schedules to clients following inspections of construction projects and validating quantities;
  • Drafting contracts and negotiating modifications, amendments, and additions to contractual agreements with clients;
  • Engaging with contractors and other stakeholders;
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • A university degree or college diploma in Civil Engineering;
  • Experience in engineering and construction inspection roles;
  • Background in engineering and construction coordination or administration;
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills;
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team;
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle with current registration and insurance;
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and travel to various site locations as necessary.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience within the construction sector, particularly in structural, watermain, asphalt, and/or grade inspection on road and/or bridge construction projects;
  • Proven experience as a Construction Inspector on a minimum of two previous projects;
  • Demonstrated experience as an Office Administrator or Project Coordinator on at least two previous projects;
  • Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT), if applicable, or Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with the appropriate regulatory body, or the ability to obtain this designation within six months.
