The Accounting Officer, Screening Payments is a key role within CATSA / ACSTA, responsible for delivering high-quality accounting services. This position requires a strong background in accounting and finance, with a focus on processing vendor invoices, employee claims, and other disbursements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and verify accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Manage and maintain financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other accounting documents.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with financial policies, procedures, and regulations, applying knowledge to improve financial processes and controls.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in accounting or business administration.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of financial software, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Great Plains Financial System.
  • Knowledge of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and Treasury Board Policies and Directives.
  • Experience in accounts payable and awareness of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Knowledge of CATSA's mandate and priorities, as well as relevant legislation impacting CATSA.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work overtime as required.
