Accounting Officer, Screening Payments

Job Summary:

The Accounting Officer, Screening Payments is a key role within CATSA / ACSTA, responsible for delivering high-quality accounting services. This position requires a strong background in accounting and finance, with a focus on processing vendor invoices, employee claims, and other disbursements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and verify accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Manage and maintain financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other accounting documents.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure seamless financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Stay up-to-date with financial regulations, policies, and procedures, applying this knowledge to ensure compliance and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in accounting or business administration.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of financial software, including Microsoft Excel and Great Plains Financial System.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with financial administration, including accounts payable and general accounting/financial management services.
  • Knowledge of Treasury Board Policies and Directives, as well as the Financial Administration Act (FAA).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
