Overview

The objective is to establish expertise in the Energy Category and become the preferred partner for retail collaborations. The Category Development Manager (CDM) will play a crucial role in fostering, developing, and sustaining credible, long-term relationships with retail partners and clients.

Reporting Structure

The CDM will report to the Senior Category Development Manager and will serve as the primary category liaison for assigned clients, delivering category strategies and offering strategic recommendations to Buyers. Additionally, collaboration with the National Account team will be essential to leverage category insights and pinpoint strategic opportunities for enhancing sales, market share, and optimizing promotion, pricing, shelf placement, and product distribution.

Focus Areas

This Category Development role will concentrate on: Ecommerce, Emerging Channels, and On-Premise clients.

Key Responsibilities

Essential functions include:

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in Category Development or Key Account sales within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector.
  • A highly analytical, organized, and self-driven individual capable of extracting insights from various complex data sources.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities to articulate analytics and present findings to diverse audiences within the organization and to external clients.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, slicers, and formulas.
  • Experience with syndicated sales data (Nielsen, etc.), shopper panel data (Numerator, Nielsen Homescan, Kantar, etc.), retailer sales data (LDIA, Dunnhumby, IRI, Retail Link, SPS, etc.), and foodservice insights (Technomic, Nielsen CGA, etc.).
  • Expertise in planogram development using software such as JDA Space Planning.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in retailer-facing roles is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with both Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and Broadline distribution systems is beneficial.
  • A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Travel Requirements

Travel expectations are between 10-20%.
