As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our warehouse and facilities, ensuring the highest level of productivity, quality, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
- Production Management: Oversee production activities and enforce productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
- Human Resources: Accomplish warehouse human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions.
- Process Improvement: Develop system improvements by analyzing processes and implementing changes.
- Maintenance and Logistics: Ensure day-to-day maintenance of the facility, machinery, and equipment is performed, and analyze logistical requirements and problems and produce solutions.
- Purchasing and Inventory: Purchase consumables and review related invoices.
- 5+ years of warehouse operations management experience, ideally in a distribution environment.
- 5+ years' experience in a fast-paced, large volume, high-intensity environment, with high focus on meeting/exceeding measurable metrics.
- 3+ years' experience implementing continuous improvement programs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an understanding of diverse backgrounds and an emphasis on communication.
- This individual should accept and embrace change as an ongoing theme in our plant and be open to continuous learning.
- Solution-oriented mentality and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
- Candidate must be highly organized to excel at this position.
- This person should take a hands-on approach to managing operations and supervising staff.
- Metal/Steel Knowledge an asset.
- Steel Slitting/CTL processing knowledge and experience an asset.
