About the Role
As a Senior Specialist in Financial Reporting, you will leverage your analytical expertise and financial reporting skills to provide strategic financial guidance. Your knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) will be crucial in our mission to enhance housing affordability across Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer strategic insights to management regarding financial outcomes, accounting policies, and complex audit matters.
- Ensure accurate accounting records and reconciliations that comply with regulatory standards and maintain strong internal controls.
- Prepare and assess the Corporation's annual consolidated financial statements and other mandatory reports in accordance with IFRS.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements.
- Mentor and guide Analysts and Specialists in their work.
- Collaborate on various projects as the finance expert, including new program implementations and assessments of accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- A professional accounting designation (minimum Chartered Professional Accountant).
- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in financial reporting.
- Experience in developing and implementing accounting policies and handling complex accounting issues.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and environments.
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An MBA or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
- In-depth knowledge of complex IFRS standards.
