Job Summary:

Shawenim Abinoojii Inc is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Case Manager to join our team. As a Case Manager, you will play a vital role in providing support to our Sacred Care homes, working closely with foster parents, youth, and support teams to ensure comprehensive case management services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with foster parents, youth, and support teams through regular home visits, communication, and collaboration.
  • Conduct monthly case planning meetings in foster homes with assigned collaterals to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Complete required Foster Care Licensing and service documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of services provided in each home and effectively communicate with the Program Manager and SECFS.
  • Collect, review, and distribute monthly reports and incident reports for each home, assessing concerns, strategizing solutions, and supporting homes in responding appropriately.
  • Communicate training needs for House Parents, Support, and Respite Workers to the Program Manager and identify training opportunities.
  • Ensure outcomes, assessments, and service plans are current and up-to-date.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Regular travel is required for this position, covering Winnipeg and surrounding areas.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree or equivalent education and experience in the field.
  • Knowledge of colonization and intergenerational trauma.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Services (CFS) sector and legislation.
  • Good understanding of foster care standards and related licensing paperwork.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or understanding of First Nations perspectives, culture, and philosophies.
  • Experience developing and supporting a strong, respectful team-based approach to service delivery.
  • Experience working with families and navigating complex situations.
  • Satisfactory Child Abuse, Criminal Record check (with Vulnerable Sector), and Prior Contact Check.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, word processing (MS Word), Spreadsheets (Excel), and Internet.
  • Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and team skills.
  • Ability to speak Anishinaabe is an asset.
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver's license and a reliable vehicle with the ability to provide a clear driver's abstract.
