We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Metallurgy Engineer to join our team at Fed Manutech. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for developing new diamond tools and materials, collaborating with technicians, and contributing to the growth of our business.

  • Design, prototype, and analyze new diamond tools and materials
  • Monitor client needs and gather feedback from internal sales teams and technicians
  • Characterize, analyze, and design metallic and composite materials produced through powder metallurgy
  • Collaborate with technicians to conduct field tests on mining exploration sites
  • Identify, develop, and manage R&D partnerships with companies and organizations
  • Stay up-to-date with technological trends, patents, and competitor developments
  • Provide technical training on drilling techniques and products
  • Participate in field technician meetings to enhance the development project portfolio
  • Assist the procurement department in qualifying critical suppliers
  • Conduct material property studies and analyses
  • Contribute to credit and grant application processes for development projects
  • Support the production department and subcontractors in resolving manufacturing issues
  • Assist the quality department in analyzing internal or external non-conformities
  • Support the continuous improvement department in deploying equipment impacting the manufacturing process

  • 7 years of experience in materials engineering or metallurgy
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • University degree in materials engineering or metallurgy
  • Relevant production experience
  • Extensive knowledge of safety standards
  • Experience in powder metallurgy or heavy industry

  • Permanent full-time position
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Location: Ville Saint-Laurent
  • Salary: $85k to $100k depending on experience
  • Annual bonus
