Job Title: Research Engineer I

InterDigital is a global leader in research and development, focused on wireless, video, artificial intelligence, and related technologies. Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer I to join our Wireless Standards team. The successful candidate will have a solid theoretical background in artificial intelligence, neural networks, and machine learning. They will be responsible for conducting research on fundamental and applied AI/ML techniques targeting the evolution and design of the physical radio layer for 5G-Advanced radio technologies, 6G radio access, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on AI/ML techniques for wireless systems
  • Develop innovative solutions addressing challenges of advanced deployments of AI/ML in future wireless systems
  • Contribute to 3GPP RAN AI/ML team through research, evaluation, analysis, and development of AI-driven solutions
  • Support 3GPP standardization activities through preparation of AI/ML models, simulations, and contributions in Radio Access Network (RAN) Working Groups
Requirements
  • B.Eng., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, or other relevant discipline
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience in machine learning with theoretical understanding of various training methods and neural networks
  • In-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, deep learning, data mining, optimization
  • Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow
  • Strong analytical, technical, innovative, and leadership skills
