Job Title: Inclusive Education/Foods and Nutrition

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as an Inclusive Education/Foods and Nutrition Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and contribute to the growth and development of our school district.

About the Role:

This is a 1.0 Continuing Specialist Position in Inclusive Education/Foods and Nutrition. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing educational support to students with diverse learning needs, developing and implementing inclusive curriculum, and collaborating with teachers and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement inclusive curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students
  • Provide educational support to students with special needs, including those with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans and provide support to students with challenging behaviors
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in inclusive education and special education
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent
  • Minimum completion of 3rd and 4th year level university coursework necessary for teaching senior level curricula
  • Training in functional behavior assessment and behavioral intervention strategies
  • Experience in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with the Ministry of Education and Childcare
