Elementary Teacher Opportunity

Tl'azt'en Nation is seeking a qualified and experienced Elementary Teacher to join our team at Eugene Joseph Elementary School (EJES).

We are committed to delivering exceptional educational services to the local community and placing students and families at the heart of our operations. Our team is dedicated to empowering all learners, and our curriculum has a focus on literacy, Dakelh Language and Culture, land-based learning, and technology.

About the Role
  • Teach students in grades K-7, with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and Dakelh Language and Culture.
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations to meet the needs of all students.
  • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and achievements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Participate in school-wide professional development to enhance teaching practices.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials.
Requirements
  • BC Teaching Certificate or eligibility to obtain.
  • Experience teaching elementary students, with a focus on literacy and numeracy.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment.
  • Experience integrating technology into instructional practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
