Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Math and Science Educator to join our team at School District #91 (Nechako Lakes). As an Inclusive Education Specialist, you will be responsible for teaching Junior and Senior Math and Science courses, with a focus on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Junior and Senior Math and Science courses, including curriculum planning and delivery
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive school culture
  • Use technology to enhance student learning and engagement
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent
  • Minimum completion of 3rd and 4th year level university coursework necessary for teaching Senior level curricula
  • Completion or partial completion of a professional certification or university degree program in Special Education
  • Training in functional behavior assessment and behavioral intervention strategies
  • Experience in developing and implementing IEPs and working with intensive behavior students
  • Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with the Ministry of Education and Childcare
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching Math and Science courses at the Junior and Senior levels
  • Knowledge of competency-based assessment strategies and differentiated instruction
  • Experience in integrating technology into instructional practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents/guardians to support student learning
