Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Control Specialist to join our team at Webber Infrastructure Management Canada Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient management of highway incidents and accidents.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency response management principles, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will be required to work independently, prioritize demands, and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary liaison between provincial and local authorities, emergency responders, and our operations center.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders via radio and telephone to provide incident updates and coordinate responses.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and accidents, identifying contributing factors and implementing corrective actions.
  • Coordinate detour routes and asset closures to minimize disruptions to traffic flow.
  • Track and maintain detailed records of incidents and accidents, including documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Assist with the administration of third-party claims, gathering relevant information and supporting the claims process.
  • Coordinate special events and traffic control operations, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruptions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including contributing to a safe and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in highway maintenance operations, freeway traffic control, and incident management.
  • Valid Class DZ driver's license with a good driving record.
  • OTM BOOK 7 certification required.
Working Conditions

As a Traffic Control Specialist, you will be exposed to various working conditions, including extreme temperatures, wet and humid environments, and moderate to high noise levels. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
