Professor, Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Vancouver Island University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic leader to join our Faculty of Health Sciences and Human Services as a Professor, Bachelor of Science in Nursing. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator and researcher to contribute to the development and delivery of our undergraduate nursing program.
Key Responsibilities- Teach theory and practice courses, as well as skills labs (including simulation), in all years of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
- Prepare and deliver classes, design and grade student assignments and tests, and facilitate student integration of theory and practice.
- Oversee instructor-led and preceptor-led practicums across all years of the program.
- Participate in program and faculty meetings, and liaise with staff and faculty.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum and program initiatives.
- Engage in scholarly activity and community involvement, and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Completed relevant PhD and an undergraduate degree in Nursing from an appropriately accredited institution.
- Minimum three years current practice experience in nursing within different contexts of care, including mental health, gerontology, or acute-medical/surgical care.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a dynamic and creative program team, and proficiency with the application and integration of information technology to teaching.
- Current practicing membership in good standing with the BCCNP.
- Experience with, and knowledge of, Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and a confirmed satisfactory driving record.
- Experience teaching in simulation labs and with digital teaching technology.
- Recent research experience and interests.
