Clinical/Lab Instructor, Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Job Summary:
Vancouver Island University is seeking a qualified Clinical/Lab Instructor to join our Nursing Program. As a key member of our faculty team, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality curriculum to students in our Nursing Program.
- Prepare and grade student assignments and tests, and facilitate student integration of theory and practice.
- Participate in program and faculty meetings, and liaise with support staff and other faculty members.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of program policies and procedures.
- Engage in scholarly activity and community involvement, and participate in professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Completed BSN Degree from an accredited institution and current practicing membership in good standing with the BCCNM.
- Five years of full-time recent practice experience in different contexts of care.
- Ability to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a dynamic and creative program team.
- Proficiency with the application and integration of information technology to teaching.
- Experience with, and knowledge of, Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and confirmed satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a clinical educator.
- PhD from an accredited institution, or a Master's degree from an accredited institution and three years teaching experience.
