Job Summary:

Vancouver Island University is seeking a qualified Clinical/Lab Instructor to join our Nursing Program. As a key member of our faculty team, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality curriculum to students in our Nursing Program.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to ensure student success.
  • Participate in program and faculty meetings to contribute to the development and implementation of our Nursing Program.
  • Liaise with support staff and other faculty members to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our program's curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Participate in scholarly activity and community involvement to enhance teaching and learning.

Requirements:

  • Completed BSN Degree from an accredited institution and current practicing membership in good standing with the BCCNM.
  • Five years of full-time recent practice experience in different contexts of care.
  • Ability to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a dynamic and creative program team.
  • Proficiency with the application and integration of information technology to teaching.
  • Experience with, and knowledge of, Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and confirmed satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a clinical educator.
  • PhD from an accredited institution, or a Master's degree from an accredited institution and three years teaching experience.
