Job Overview

Woodlands North Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Regulatory Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our environmental services team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and permits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement environmental regulatory strategies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of environmental permits and applications.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of environmental regulatory activities.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on environmental regulatory matters to internal stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in environmental regulations and laws, and ensure that our team is compliant.
Requirements
  • University Degree or technical diploma in a relevant field, such as environmental science, law, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance, including experience with Alberta Environment and Parks, Alberta Energy Regulator, and Department of Fisheries and Oceans online permitting application and report submission systems and processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of environmental regulations and laws, including the Public Lands Act, Water Act, Federal Fisheries Act, Species at Risk Act, Alberta Wetland Policy, and fish rescue licenses.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
