Job Summary:

The IMP Group is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing first and second-level maintenance on aircraft mechanical, structural, and electrical systems and components, as well as ground support equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including servicing, inspection, removal, cleaning, repair, installation, adjustment, testing, and certification of aircraft systems and components.
  • Conduct pre- and post-flight inspections and support, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and installation of required mission equipment.
  • Perform ground runs of engines and auxiliary power units, where qualified and authorized.
  • Travel to other main operating bases, deployments, and remote sites to support maintenance and operations.
  • Provide on-the-job training to other employees and attend training for trade and professional development.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment by sweeping and cleaning hangar, shop, stores, and office areas.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Supervise other employees and perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a recognized aircraft maintenance course or apprenticeship program and hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license or be qualified as an aircraft aviation technician within the Canadian Forces or equivalent commercial experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, including power plants, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental, basic structures, and power generation and distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of use of special tools and equipment, corrosion and corrosion control techniques, and ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
  • Valid NS Class 5 Driver License and ability to drive vehicles, tow tractors, and support vehicles.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to occupational health, safety, and environment policies and continually focus on individual safety and the safety of others.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Learn & 8S activities and meet requirements for Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and Transport Canada security clearances.
