Position Overview:
As a key member of the Department of Physiology, the Graduate Program Administrator plays a vital role in supporting our graduate students through their academic journey. This position involves providing essential guidance on both academic and financial matters, ensuring that students are well-informed about program requirements, procedures, and deadlines.

About the Department:
The Department of Physiology is recognized as one of the largest and most interdisciplinary basic science departments within the Faculty of Medicine. Our department is committed to fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment that promotes innovative research and education.

Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  1. Providing comprehensive advice to students regarding academic and financial inquiries.
  2. Guiding students through the petition and appeal processes, offering alternative solutions when necessary.
  3. Evaluating and recommending allocations for award funding.
  4. Analyzing statistical data to inform enrollment strategies and identify the need for additional course offerings.
  5. Creating promotional materials and leading outreach initiatives.
  6. Conducting seminars and workshops aimed at student recruitment.

Essential Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  1. A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of experience.
  2. A minimum of four years of relevant experience in student admissions or recruitment within a large educational institution.
  3. Proven experience in advising prospective students and their families on admission processes.
  4. In-depth knowledge of graduate program functions, including admissions, enrollment, and funding.
  5. Experience in delivering presentations and workshops to diverse audiences.
  6. A strong commitment to equity and inclusion, with experience supporting underrepresented groups.
  7. Ability to develop effective promotional materials for student recruitment.
  8. Experience in assessing award funding allocations.
  9. Demonstrated skills in organizing and executing recruitment events.
  10. Strong analytical skills, with experience in data reporting and visualization.
  11. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and student information systems.
  12. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage a diverse population.
  13. Exceptional public speaking and interpersonal abilities.
  14. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  15. Proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving.
  16. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Travel Requirements:
This position may require occasional travel for recruitment events.
