About the Role:

As a Landfill Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining the landfill's operational efficiency and ensuring a safe working environment. You will operate heavy equipment, such as bulldozers and front-end loaders, to compact waste and cover it with dirt.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the tipping area to prevent litter from blowing away.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, including adding fluids and greasing parts.
  • Work with experts to ensure waste is filled to grade.
  • Attend meetings to learn about safety procedures and other important information.

Requirements:

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Problem-solving skills and common sense.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read, speak, understand, and write English.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license.

Working Conditions:

  • Working outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Operating heavy equipment about half the time.
  • Noisy work environment.
  • Working hours until 5:45 PM each day.
