Landfill Equipment Operator

GFL Environmental is seeking a Landfill Equipment Operator to work in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. This is a part-time position.
As a Landfill Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining the landfill's organization and safety for the environment. You will use bulldozers, front-end loaders, and other heavy equipment to compact waste and cover it with dirt. This important job helps keep our community clean and healthy.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the tipping area to prevent litter from blowing away.
- Check compost areas, set up bait stations, and fill out reports about water on-site.
- Pick up loose trash to keep the landfill looking good.
- Work with experts to ensure the waste is filled to grade.
- Inspect and maintain the bulldozers and other equipment, including adding fluids and greasing parts.
- Clean trash off the machines' tracks to ensure they run smoothly.
- Attend meetings to learn about safety procedures and other important information.
Qualifications:
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Problem-solving skills and common sense.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read, speak, understand, and write English.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license.
Working Conditions:
- You will work outdoors in all types of weather.
- You will operate heavy equipment about half the time.
- The work environment can be noisy.
- You will work until 5:45 PM each day.
