Your Role

Our office is currently seeking a qualified Mid-Level Civil Engineer to enhance our team. Stantec offers a supportive culture that values well-being, competitive benefits, and comprehensive compensation packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in civil engineering tasks on diverse projects, managing smaller assignments that may involve overseeing design and construction phases.
  • Conduct complex engineering design tasks under the guidance of senior engineers, including the preparation of calculations, drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and regulatory submissions.
  • Utilize knowledge of civil engineering principles for projects related to roadways, drainage, grading, and site development, while supporting data collection for informed design choices.
  • Engage in the permitting process, which may involve liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform fieldwork to gather site information as directed by senior engineers.
  • Execute basic calculations for civil system components using various software tools.
  • Support the preparation of reports and perform related tasks as assigned.
  • Assist in interpreting and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and engineering standards; participate in construction inspections and coordinate with regulatory reviews for project approvals.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposals and client relationship management.
  • May mentor junior engineers in their technical development.
  • May be responsible for reviewing and sealing engineering projects.

Qualifications

Skills and Credentials

  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to lead and manage teams, effectively addressing project concerns with clients and stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of all phases of civil engineering projects, including various delivery methods for both public and private sectors.
  • Strong time management abilities, with a thorough grasp of task assignments, scheduling, budgeting, and resource optimization.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable codes, legal standards, and design requirements.
  • Proficient in relevant design software, including AutoCAD, Civil3D, and GIS.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, along with a Professional Engineer license.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is preferred.
