Nursing Care Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Care Support Worker to join our team at 2777648 ONTARIO INC. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality support to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supply and empty bed pans, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment
  • Take patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
  • Serve meal trays and feed patients, promoting a positive dining experience
  • Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients with care and attention to detail
  • Make beds and maintain patients' rooms, ensuring a comfortable living space
  • Supervise patients' exercise routines, promoting physical activity and mobility
  • Bathe, dress, and groom patients with dignity and respect
  • Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher, ensuring safe and comfortable transfers
  • Answer call signals to determine patients' needs, responding promptly and professionally
  • Collect specimens, following established protocols and procedures
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas, ensuring a safe and sterile environment
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations, providing immediate care and support
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • Experience working in a nursing home or home for the aged
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with repetitive tasks
  • Physical demands include standing for extended periods, combination of sitting, standing, and walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Weight handling up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and more
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, client focus, dependability, and initiative
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with patience and reliability
