Job Summary

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled Water Meter Operations Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Revenue Service, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient operation of our water meter systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize water meter performance and accuracy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement water meter infrastructure projects
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to staff on water meter operations and maintenance
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of water meters to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of water meter data and performance metrics
Requirements
  • 4-year university degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in water meter operations and maintenance
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensure with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
  • Valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver's licence (or provincial equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with water meter technology and installation
  • Knowledge of infrastructure management systems and digital inventories
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
