The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled Water Meter Operations Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Revenue Service, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient operation of our water meter systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to optimize water meter performance and accuracy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement water meter infrastructure projects
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to staff on water meter operations and maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of water meters to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain accurate records of water meter performance and maintenance activities
- 4-year university degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in water meter operations and maintenance
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensure with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver's licence (or provincial equivalent)
- Experience with water meter technology and installation
- Knowledge of infrastructure management systems and digital inventories
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
