Water Meter Operations Specialist

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled Water Meter Operations Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Revenue Service, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of water meter readings across the city.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement water meter programs to optimize water consumption and revenue collection
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to management and staff on water meter operations and maintenance
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure accurate meter readings and identify potential issues
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services
- 4-year university degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in water meter operations and maintenance
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensure with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver's licence
- Experience with water meter technology and installation
- Knowledge of infrastructure management systems and digital inventories
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide guidance to technical staff
