Job Summary

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled Water Meter Operations Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Revenue Service, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of water meter readings across the city.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement water meter programs to optimize water consumption and revenue collection
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to management and staff on water meter operations and maintenance
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure accurate meter readings and identify potential issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services
Requirements
  • 4-year university degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in water meter operations and maintenance
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
