Job Title: Technical Support Specialist

Join BFG Enterprise Services as a Technical Support Specialist and take on a challenging role that requires strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Support Specialist to provide field technical service and support at our customer sites across Canada. As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for performing connectivity and hardware troubleshooting and repair, as well as providing technical support to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform connectivity and hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, or in-person
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure equipment
  • Identify and repair hardware issues in a POS environment
  • Replace scanners, scales, pin pads, printers, and workstations
  • Assure all other on-site support services and repairs are completed by verifying operations and maintaining required quality levels and documenting work performed
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area by observing all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform travel on a moment's notice to provide support at customer sites
  • Be available for rotational shifts, including evenings, weekends, and 24/7 stand-by
  • Prepare field reports and liaise with the Help Desk on escalated issues
Requirements:
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • Minimum university degree with a major in information technology or a related program
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in IT field services
  • Experience working in a retail environment with POS systems
  • Experience working with remote management software
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools
  • Proficient computer skills and solid knowledge of computer networking
Personal Requirements:
  • Excellent prioritizing and communication skills
  • Ability to travel to customers' sites on short notice over extended periods of time
  • Ability and availability to work rotational shifts, including evenings, weekends, and 24/7 stand-by
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
