Job Title: Financial Aid Officer Lead

Job Summary:

The Financial Aid Officer Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the financial aid team at Northern Lights College. This position is responsible for coordinating the team's activities, ensuring compliance with College, provincial, and federal regulations related to student financial assistance programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the financial aid team's operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with Ministry officials as the College's designated point of contact for policy interpretation and system account management.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver information sessions about student financial assistance options to the College community.
  • Prepare presentations and supporting materials for information sessions.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Registrar of Enrolment Services to achieve team goals.

Requirements:

  • Two-year diploma in a related field, such as advising or business management (or equivalent).
  • One-year related experience in financial aid or a policy-intensive setting with significant student or client contact.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to work independently or as a team.
  • Demonstrated strength in analytical reasoning and problem-solving.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact, diplomacy, discretion, and sensitivity.
  • Current and valid driver's license (some travel may be necessary).
