We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Safety Manager to join our team at Parsons Corporation. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, contractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and guidance on safety, health, and environmental matters to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Assist and advise project managers in developing and implementing site-specific safety plans, ensuring that all worksites conform to Parsons' risk management practices.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify hazards and provide expertise to eliminate or control risks associated with exposure to hazards.
  • Investigate incidents and root cause analyses to identify effective corrective actions and implement improvements.
  • Perform trends analyses on audit findings, inspection findings, and incident reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Represent Parsons during external regulatory or loss control inspections of project worksites.
  • Develop and maintain SH&E training records and conduct regulatory and best practice SH&E training.
  • Interface with co-workers, clients, contractors, and third parties in a professional manner consistent with contract agreements and applicable standards of reasonable care.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in occupational safety and health or related field or equivalent experience, and 10 years or more of related work experience in the field of occupational safety and health.
  • Certification as a Canadian Certified Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian safety and health regulations, acts, and reporting requirements.
  • High-level knowledge of federal and territorial SH&E regulations and reporting procedures, high-level knowledge of safety-related national consensus standards (e.g., CSA, ANSI, NFPA), and exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
