Position Overview

Eaton's Electrical Engineering and Services Division is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineering Consultant to contribute expertise in power systems. This role is essential for delivering specialized engineering services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical consultation in power systems studies, power quality assessments, substation design, and training.
  • Manage assigned projects with accountability for job costs, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Interpret specifications and customer inquiries to develop technical proposals and pricing solutions.
  • Deliver innovative technical solutions that may involve equipment design, upgrades, and enhancements to safety, reliability, or efficiency.
  • Conduct major studies and projects independently.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on electrical power systems, or a PhD.
  • An Engineering License.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the electrical industry, with at least 5 years specifically in power systems.
  • Active participation in technical societies such as IEEE, including senior membership.
  • Experience in writing technical papers and conducting short-circuit analysis, as well as LV/MV coordination.
  • Proficiency in testing, troubleshooting, and evaluating electrical distribution and control systems.
  • Familiarity with power quality measurements and analysis.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards including CSA, NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI.
  • Experience in the design of distribution systems, substations, and protection & control systems.
