Job Title: Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer

Tetra Tech is seeking a highly skilled Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Power Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing engineering and design works of electrical power Transmission and Distribution, protective relaying, control systems, and equipment monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out engineering and design works of electrical power Transmission and Distribution with assigned team.
  • Perform engineering designs for protective relaying, control systems, and equipment monitoring for transmission, distribution, and generation substations.
  • Perform protective relay calculations, fault studies, and coordination for up to 500kV substations and transmission lines.
  • Create protective relay settings for transmission lines, distribution feeders, transformer banks, capacitor banks, and station buses.
  • Scope engineering projects during planning phase for accurate Protection and control work and resources.
  • Design new and modify existing protection and control systems for lines and substations up to 500kV.
  • Ensure work is executed in accordance with sound engineering principles, project plans, and established procedures.
  • Manage designs and deliverables of other designers, reviewing their engineering designs for accuracy and quality.
  • Recommend engagement of outside engineering consultants/specialists as required.
  • Advise on project staffing requirements and review project man-hour estimates.
  • Provide technical assistance to clients during project construction phase and close-out.
Qualifications:
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years in engineering specification and design of Protection, Control, and Metering systems.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Canada and/or the United States.
  • Previous experience in Transmission and distribution, power generation, consulting engineering fields, and renewables/sustainable industries.
  • Experience in Power Station SCADA, RTU's, and Substation LAN & Automation.
