Position Summary
This role reports to the Security Manager and is responsible for overseeing daily security operations at our casino location. You will play a key part in ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests, team members, and company assets. Your leadership and expertise will contribute to maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere while upholding Great Canadian Entertainment's commitment to excellence.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide valuable input for performance evaluations of security team members, fostering their growth and development.
- Mentor, coach, and train front-line security staff, sharing best practices and ensuring a high level of operational proficiency. This includes training on the non-gaming record keeping system.
- Verify security timesheets for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor, document, and report any internal or external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious individuals, or activities observed throughout the property. Prepare detailed electronic statements using our non-gaming record keeping system.
- Assist guests in enrolling in the Self-Exclusion Program, demonstrating a commitment to responsible gaming practices.
- Oversee crowd control measures for special events, ensuring smooth operations and guest safety.
- Administer and maintain various critical security systems, including Key Control, WINPAC, SIMS, and Threat Management System.
- Review surveillance files, maintain site surveillance equipment, and promptly report any issues or malfunctions.
- Enforce restricted access to authorized personnel only, safeguarding sensitive areas and assets.
- Observe cashier transactions and slot drops (if applicable), and escort cash and cash equivalent movements with utmost care.
- Conduct regular patrols throughout the property as directed, identifying potential risks and conditions that may compromise safety for team members, guests, facilities, or company assets.
- Provide or assist with First Aid for team members and guests in need, demonstrating a commitment to well-being.
- Tag and report found property, ensuring it is transferred to the Lost and Found department.
- Respond to, resolve, or escalate security issues promptly and effectively, maintaining order and safety.
- May escort guests and team members or assign escort duties as required, providing a secure environment for all.
- Conduct identification checks as necessary, verifying the authenticity of credentials.
- Communicate effectively with all operational departments, fostering collaboration and information sharing.
- Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, team members, regulatory bodies, and police authorities.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Education and Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 2 years of security experience in a gaming environment; supervisory experience is an asset; surveillance experience is beneficial.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
- Occupational First Aid level 2 is an asset
- Serving It Right certification is required
- Ability to obtain any necessary licenses or permits
