About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team at 2239912 Ontario inc. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the construction and maintenance of buildings and other structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials to construct, repair, and install structures and fixtures.
  • Prepare Tenders and Quotations: Prepare detailed estimates and quotations for clients, including materials and labor costs.
  • Build Foundations and Install Roof Systems: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems to ensure the structural integrity of buildings.
  • Fabricate and Install Fixtures: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware to complete the construction of buildings.
  • Coordinate Work on Sites: Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Survey Building Locations and Levels: Survey building locations and levels to ensure accuracy and precision in construction.
  • Train and Mentor Apprentices: Instruct apprentices in the skills and techniques required for the trade.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate costs and materials required for projects to ensure accurate budgeting.
  • Maintain and Repair Structures: Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Carpenter who is able to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building codes and regulations, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the trade.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty environments.
  • Work Setting: Ability to work in a variety of locations, including construction sites and industrial plants.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy loads, bend, crouch, and kneel.
  • Supervision: Ability to supervise 1 to 2 people.
