About the Role

The Toronto Catholic District School Board is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our East/West Facilities & Maintenance department. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on millwork, furniture, and equipment, as well as refurbish portables and door hardware.
  • Tool Management: Safely operate and maintain tools supplied by the Board, as well as company vehicles.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, including work orders, timesheets, vehicle maintenance, and mileage reports.
  • Other Duties: Perform other job-related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Certificate of Competence: Hold a certificate of competence in general carpentry from the Ontario Ministry of Skills and Development.
  • Trades Experience: Have a minimum of five years of practical experience in construction, maintenance, or a service industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: Possess technical knowledge of building materials and their uses.
  • Supervision: Be able to function without close supervision.
  • Education: Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Language: Be proficient in the English language.
  • Driver's License: Hold a valid Ontario Driver's 'G' License and have access to a reliable automobile.
